Cris Cyborg calls out Ronda Rousey for a fight: 'You cannot give up'
Cyborg and Rousey have never faced off in their MMA careers so far.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Cris "Cyborg" Justino has reiterated her desire to face former Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, calling her out once again for a fight. The Brazilian Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter in the past has claimed that she has unfinished business with the American superstar.
Cyborg has started well in the UFC, and is coming off an impressive win over newcomer Lina Lansberg in the catchweight 140 pound category at UFC Fight Night 95 on 24 September. The Brazilian was in imperious form, winning by total knockout in the second round at the Ginasio Nilson Nelson arena in Brazil.
Justino though has only one fighter in her sights, and is keen for a clash with Rousey.
"I want Ronda to come back. I think she should show people even when you lose, it's not the end of the world. You cannot give up", Cyborg said, as quoted by FoxSports.
The duo have had a number of spats over the years. Rousey was especially critical of Justino when it emerged that she had failed a drug test in 2011. They have also come close to fighting a number of times in the past, however it did not happen as the Brazilian could not make the Rousey's 135-pound weight limit.
Rousey has been out of action since November 2015, where she suffered a shock defeat to Holly Holm at UFC 193. Holm knocked Rousey out with a vicious head kick, inflicting what was the American's first loss of her career.
While there is no confirmed date for Rousey's return, UFC president Dana White has confirmed that whenever she comes back, she will be given a chance to reclaim her Bantamweight title.
