Chrissy Teigen confirms she and husband John Legend are expecting a baby girl

Model Chrissy Teigen and singer John Legend have received an early Christmas present, learning that they are expecting a daughter.

Two months after announcing their pregnancy news, Teigen shared the baby's gender in an Instagram post.

Alongside the photo of her cover for Vogue Thailand, Teigen, 30, revealed that she and Legend, 36, were told the sex of their first child just moments after she took part in the photoshoot.

The Sports Illustrated model told her followers: " So proud and honoured to have shot the cover of Vogue Thailand! Special to me for so many reasons...one being I am SO PROUD to be Thai, so excited to have shot a Vogue cover (a dream, of course) annnnd a couple of minutes after this shot, John and I learned we were having our little baby girl!"

All Of Me singer Legend reposted his wife's Vogue cover and addressed their baby news in the caption, writing: "Chrissy's Vogue Thailand cover. From the day we found out we were pregnant with our baby girl."

In October 2015, the happy couple used Instagram to reveal that they were expecting their first child, with Teigen writing: "John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant :)" she captioned the image on Instagram. "As many of you know, we've been trying to have a baby for a while now.

"It hasn't been easy, but we kept trying because we can't wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We're so excited that it's finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching! Xx."

The pregnancy news came as a surprise for the couple who had previously struggled to conceive a child. Speaking about their fertility issues on her talk show FABLife, Teigen explained: "I will say honestly John and I were having trouble. We would have had kids five, six years ago if it happened. But my gosh it's been a process. We've seen fertility doctors and once you open up about those things to other people you learn that a lot of other people in your life are seeing these people and they have this shame about it."

After almost seven years together, Teigen and Legend married in September 2013 in Como, Italy.
