Christina El Moussa wants $1m for Flip or Flop new season: She is 'desperate to ditch Tarek'
The network wants to keep Tarek around for friction in Flip or Flop season 7.
Reality star Christina El Moussa has been in news of late for reasons more dramatic than her show, Flip or Flop. In December, the news of her split form co-host Tarek El Moussa first came to attention and ever since her personal drama has continued to grab major eyeballs.
So much so, that reports now claim the HGTV star is in a "place of power" to make outrageous demands to continue working with the network. According a latest report, the 33-year-old has asked for a whopping $1m (£781) to star in new season of Flip or Flop.
Not just that, Christina is said to be "desperate" to dump her ex-husband as she continues flipping houses on her hit reality show.
"Christina knows that all of her personal drama has brought the network huge ratings. She's in a place of power," a source told In Touch magazine dishing about the reality star's outlandish demands.
Apart from the hiked fee, Christina has even asked the Flip or Flop producers for shorter filming hours, transportation, and a personal trailer with facilities like hair, makeup, and wardrobe, as per the magazine source.
If rumours are to be believed, HGTV bosses are likely to give in to the demands of their host but they might not axe Tarek from the hit home-remodeling show yet. The source claims, "[Christina] is desperate to ditch Tarek, but the network wants to keep him around for the friction."
Even, the 35-year-old ex of Christina has allegedly asked for a hike in fee, but the report suggests that he might not make the cut.
This comes amid rumours that the HGTV show could be cancelled following bad press over Christina and Tarek's divorce. While chances of an eight season appear bleak, sources confirmed that the upcoming Flip or Flop season 7 would be shorter than usual with only five episodes.
The El Moussas announced their split in December last year, though they were living apart for months.
