R'n'B star Ciara is preparing to walk down the aisle after accepting rapper/producer Future's marriage proposal.

The Body Party singer received the ultimate birthday present when Future popped the question in the traditional way by getting down on one knee and presenting her with a 15-carat diamond ring.

According to their publicist Chris Chambers, she was celebrating her 28th birthday in New York when Future surprised her with their proposal.

Ciara took to Twitter to express her excitement.

"Today has 2 be like one of the sweetest days of my life! #TheBestBirthdayEver," she told her 5.2 million followers.

"If I'm dreaming I don't want to wake up..Aaaaaahhh!!!:)"

Future, whose real name is Nayvadius Wilburn, is in the middle of a tour with Canadian hip-hop superstar Drake.

"The couple is excited about their engagement and are looking forward to start building a life together," her rep said.

In April, the pair who went public with their romance in January, debuted matching tattoos on their wedding fingers. Ciara got an 'N' to represent Future's first initial and he returned the gesture by getting a 'C'.
