Ciara and Russell Wilson wedding: Bridesmaids wore black Michael Costello gowns in distinct designs
The singer and American football quarterback got married on 6 June in Chesire, England.
Newlywed couple Ciara and Russell Wilson posted the first photograph from their lavish English wedding on Instagram. While the couple cut a striking figure in their custom couture, reports revealed that it was not only the bride and the groom, but also the bridesmaids, who were treated to specially-designed wedding attire.
The 30-year-old singer worked with designer Michael Costello to prepare custom dresses for each of her bridesmaids.
According to an E! News report, Ciara's A-list friends were dressed in black gowns, each one slightly different from the other. "Each dress is very unique, it's this really beautiful black stretch satin so it clings to the body really well," Costello told the website about his creations for the eight bridesmaids including Kelly Rowland and La La Anthony, who stood by Ciara on her big day.
"I loved working on this with Ciara, and all her girls. It was a pleasure to be a part of her special day with Russell," he was quoted as saying by People magazine. "Every girl's individual style is implemented in the design of their dress as well as their personality. Ciara made sure of that."
Although, the bridesmaid's dresses featured a distinct style and pattern, Costello assured that they had a common characteristic too – a lacy choker that each bridesmaid sported. "I think Ciara chose black as a bridesmaid colour because every woman feels confident in black — you can't go wrong," the designer added.
In traditional white, the bride donned a custom Cavalli gown that featured a corset, sheer sleeves, lace appliqué, and beaded embellishments. Ciara chose to let her hair flow in loose waves and wore an elaborate floor-grazing veil. Complementing his wife's chic outfit, the football quarterback wore a custom Armani suit.
The duo exchanged vows on Wednesday, 6 June, in Chesire, England.
