Sir Cliff Richard's Home Searched in Sex Abuse Inquiry by South Yorkshire Police
Police are searching a Berkshire property belonging to Sir Cliff Richard over allegations he abused a boy in the 1980s.
The alleged victim was under 16 when the incident is said to have occurred.
South Yorkshire Police said the search was not connected to Operation Yewtree but officers from that operation are said to have been contacted.
The BBC reported that Richard was not present at the property. He lives in Barbados.
Household favourite Richard has spent decades as one of Britain's most fondly admired entertainers.
He is the third-highest selling pop artist in UK chart history, with estimated album sales topping 250m.
Richard had number one singles in every decade between the 1950s and 1990s and holds an army of fans across the world to this day.
A committed Christian, he found God at the height of his fame and later formed a firm friendship with American firebrand preacher Billy Graham.
