Liverpool's 11-match unbeaten run has finally ended.

In a match that also witnessed a controversial red card for Jay Spearing, Fulham managed to bundle off Kenny Dalglish's men with a single winning goal that came from Clint Dempsey.

Liverpool were reduced to a 10-man squad after Spearing's 72nd-minute dismissal. Fulham virtually took advantage of the situation as Dempsey fired in from close range after a Jose Reina fumble on 85 minutes.

Meanwhile, the BBC has reported that Dalglish is considering appealing against Spearing's red card. The midfielder was sent off for a foul on Moussa Dembele.
