Conor McGregor beats Nate Diaz at UFC 202, Twitter erupts in joy
Now, McGregor wants a trilogy fight with Diaz.
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) superstar Conor McGregor got his revenge over Nate Diaz beating him by majority 48-47, 47-47, 48-47 decision in the main card event at UFC 202 on 20 July. The Irishman came into this clash after suffering his first defeat in UFC at the hands of Diaz who forced him to submit in round two the UFC 196 event earlier this year.
This time around though, McGregor ensured that he had enough in the tank with the fight going on for the full five rounds. The Irishman started slowly in the first round, but got the better off his opponent after landing a straight left jab. Diaz who is known for his strength and durability fought back over the next two rounds but it wasn't enough with McGregor outfoxing him to win on the night.
Both of them are set to battle for a third time if all things go well after McGregor called Diaz out for a trilogy fight. However should the fight happen, then the 28-year-old will most likely have to give up his featherweight belt.
