Cornwall Elvis impersonator Derrel Weaver filmed women in toilet for sexual gratification
Cornish Elvis impersonator Derrel Weaver has admitted filming women doing private acts for his sexual gratification after cameras were found in a bedroom, bathroom and toilet in Looe. The 61-year-old pleaded guilty to eight charges of installing the video recording equipment and recording three women doing private acts, knowing they did not consent to being observed for his sexual gratification.
He has denied 12 counts of child sexual abuse and voyeurism offences alleged to have been committed between 1994 and 2014. The 22 counts relate to four females, who cannot be named for legal reasons. Weaver wore a grey sweatshirt and Elvis-style aviator sunglasses as he appeared via video link from Dartmoor Prison. He spoke only to confirm his name and enter eight guilty and 14 not guilty pleas and will stand trial at Truro Crown Court on 6 June.
