Rangers Chairman Craig Whyte Missing Days after Saying 'I don't do Walking Away'
Rangers chairman Craig Whyte is believed to have gone into hiding just as his football club hovers on the brink of collapse.
Under-fire Whyte, 40, is said to have gone abroad while Rangers struggles with the threat of running of money. It went into administration on 14 February.
Fans have protested at Rangers' Ibrox stadium in Glasgow and at Whyte's home in Grantown in the Highlands about the club's mismanagement of taxes.
In a statement before he disappeared, Whyte said: "Like other Rangers fans, I don't do walking away."
The Mirror reported that sources claimed Whyte could be in Costa Rica or Morocco.
Rangers were forced into administration over an unpaid tax bill of £9m. BBC Scotland later reported that the tax owed to HMRC was more than £13m and may rise to £15m by the end of February.
