Crazed racist attacks Muslim family at the beach then cries in police mugshot

An agitated man – allegedly drunk – attacked a Muslim family on a Texas beach, spitting forth a stream of foul insults, equating them to Isis and grabbing his genitals.

Alexander Downing, 35, of Connecticut was filmed during the rant in which he also screamed "suck my d*ck" at the family, which included young children, near a South Padre Island resort on 3 May.

Hours later, Downing was in police custody following his arrest for public intoxication.

South Padre Police have released a mugshot of him – crying his eyes out.

Footage of the disturbing daytime attack was captured by Noria Alward, 19, one of the family on the receiving end of his abuse.

"My father was approached by two women... the women asked him to help with talking to a stranger who was harassing them," she wrote on YouTube.

"All my father said to the guy was 'please enjoy your time and have fun and let everyone else here enjoy their time.' The guy seemed to listen and walked away. He then came back to my father and started throwing racist comments."

Ahmed's uncle can be seen standing up to Downing in the video, at which point the vest-wearing lout says: "Guess what? Isis don't mean sh*t to me motherfu**ers."

"Donald Trump will stop you. Donald Trump will stop you. Donald Trump will stop you motherf***er. That's my motherf**king president."

"You wanna fuck with my country? Eh?" before Downing grabs his crotch provocatively and yells: "suck my goddamn d*ck," he adds.

The crazed racist then reportedly left the family to return to the Pearl South Padre hotel where both he and the family were staying before returning to continue the volley of abuse, which was also caught on camera.

On the second occasion he tries a different tack and attempts a theological discussion, saying: " You can act like you're an innocent, you can try to f**k me, but guess what, you will never ever ever stop me [or] my Christianity from rising above your Shariah Law."

"My f**king country is the greatest country in the world. Your Shariah law don't mean sh*t to me. My country is the greatest country in the world."

He then pounds his chest in an ape-like fashion and shouts the word "ever" several times, before finally managing to continue the thought: "My country is the greatest country in the goddamn world."

South Padre Police later arrested Downing and charged him with public intoxication. They say other charges may be forthcoming.

"I was saddened," police chief Randy Smith told News Center 23, "I just want to say there is no way any of us here that work for the city would not tolerate anything like that. We try to create an environment where people can come to the beach, have a good time and have a good time with their families and enjoy themselves.

"The last thing we want is for someone to be harassed and taunted by an intoxicated subject that is blatantly out of line."
