Dalston Junction fire: Severe travel disruption following London Overground blaze

A fire near a London Overground station has caused travel chaos for thousands of commuters during rush hour. A blaze near to Dalston Junction station has resulted in the line being suspended between Highbury and Islington and Shadwell.
The suspension has resulted in severe delays on the rest of the line. National Rail has also confirmed trains are currently not running between Highbury and Islington and Shadwell as a result of the fire at Dalston.

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "Two hundred and fifty people were evacuated from Dalston Junction Station this morning as a fire broke out in a nearby wooden shed. The shed on Aswin Street was completely destroyed by the blaze.
Due to the huge amount of smoke the station was evacuated by station staff. There are no reports of any injuries. The Brigade was called at 08:06am and fire crews left the scene shortly after 09:30am. Firefighters from Stoke Newington and Islington fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
