Danger Mouse premiere: New trailer parodies Star Wars 7 as Lena Headey and John Oliver join the reboot
The first teaser trailer for the popular British series Danger Mouse has been officially unveiled at Comic-Con 2015.
BBC has revived the hit 1980's children's show which will premiere on its children's channel CBBC in September. In the United States, it will debut on Netflix in spring 2016. Talk-show host John Oliver and Game Of Thrones actress Lena Headey are set to join the voice cast of Danger Mouse.
According to BBC, Headey will provide the voice of US Secret Agent Jeopardy Mouse, while Oliver will be breathing life into mad scientist wolf Dr Augustus P Crumhorn III.
Speaking of her role at the San Diego Comic Con, Headey said, "I wanted to do it because it was pure nostalgia for me. I have children now and it's just a treat to be involved in something that you loved as a kid and be able to share it.
"Those moments as an actor that come along once in a while are not to be missed."
John Oliver said, "I've loved 'Danger Mouse' my whole life. 'Danger Mouse' was a significant part of my childhood. So to get a chance to do it is like getting a chance to step into your childhood, which is both a magical and a potentially hazardous thing."
Other members of the voice cast include Alexander Armstrong as secret agent Danger Mouse, Kevin Eldon as Danger Mouse's trusty sidekick Penfold, Stephen Fry as Colonel K, and Dave Lamb as the narrator.
Richard Osman plays professor Strontium P Jellyfishowitz, the leader of all scientists on earth.
Talking about his new role Osman said, "As a lifelong fan of the show and a slightly more recent fan of Alexander Armstrong I could not be more delighted to be playing my own small part in this incredible new version of Danger Mouse."
The first trailer for the show parodies Star Wars Episode VII, and gives fans the first taste of Alexander Armstrong's performance. It also reveals that the original theme song has been kept intact.
