David Walliams splits from wife Lara Stone: Britain's Got Talent judge 'devastated'
Britain's Got Talent judge David Walliams has reportedly split from his model wife Lara Stone.
According to The Sun, the 43-year-old funnyman and 31-year-old Dutch fashion model have called time on their five year marriage, with Stone moving out of the couple's north London home.
Although the couple, who have two year-old son Alfred together, agreed on a trial separation, Walliams is said to be devastated.
"David has been putting on a brave face. But people close to him are very worried because they know he's devastated," a source told The Sun.
Walliams started dating model Stone, who is 12 years his junior, in 2009 and they tied the knot a year later at central London's Claridge's Hotel.
In August 2014, Stone revealed that it was Walliams' mean sense of humour that attracted her to him and helped her get over her nerves on their first date.
"I'd forgotten to thank him for dinner so I sent him a text. You know what he wrote back? 'Who's this?'" she told Dutch Vogue.
"I was shocked. I really thought he'd forgotten already. I only realised later he was joking. We have so much fun. I'm quite lucky."
In November 2012, the power couple announced that they were expecting their first child and Walliams gushed about how happy he was about becoming a father.
He told his 900,000 Twitter followers: "Some wonderful news. My beautiful wife Lara is pregnant. We are having a baby! It is due next year and we both couldn't be happier. Dx."
An insider told The Sun that although friends were unaware that the couple's marriage was on the rocks, they are hoping they will be able to work through their marriage problems.
"David hopes it is a blip and that they can get the marriage back on track somehow, especially seeing as there is a child involved," the source added.
Neither Walliams nor Stone have commented on the split rumours.
