Dead Rising 4 tipped for Microsoft's Xbox E3 2016 press conference after leak
Dead Rising 4 has been tipped for reveal at E3, after new screenshots and promotional material purporting to be from the game appeared online. Reports suggest the latest instalment in Capcom's open-world zombie game will be a Microsoft exclusive and will see the return of Frank West, protagonist of the original Dead Rising.
Not a lot of information can be gleaned from the images sent to ThisGenGaming, although they do appear to show the franchise's original protagonist in a setting that resembles Willamette, Colorado, which fans will note was the setting of the first game. This has led to speculation that Dead Rising 4 could be a remake of the original game, albeit with some sort of co-op integration and a larger map.
Dead Rising 3 was generally considered a win for Capcom Vancouver and Microsoft, receiving generally positive reviews and shifting over 1.2 million copies. The game was first revealed at E3 2013.
ThisGenGaming reports that Dead Rising 4 will be announced at Microsoft's E3 press conference as a Windows Store exclusive, meaning it will land on both Windows 10 PCs and the Xbox One, as well as presumably any new iterations of the console rumoured to be announced at the event.
For now it sounds like PlayStation owners could miss out on the love, but all is not lost: Capcom is said to be bringing at least one new Resident Evil title to this year's Los Angeles trade show, which could appear in the form of Resident Evil 7 or the ground-up remake of 1998's Resi 2.
