Steve McClaren's appointment as head coach earlier in the season seems to have paid off as Derby County are enjoying their season in the Championship. They are in contention for a promotion to the Premier League next season currently sitting fourth with 44 points, seven off Leicester City on top of the table.
Striker Chris Martin and midfielder Craig Bryson are in sensational form having featured in all the 24 matches in the Championship for the Rams, scoring 23 goals and grabbing 13 assists between them. Derby began 2014 with a defeat at home to Wigan Athletic. The former England manager will be wishing for his side to stand up to the visitors and pull of a giant kill on Sunday.
Since suffering a 2-1 defeat at Sunderland in the Capital One Cup, Chelsea have responded well and are unbeaten in their last four games winning the last three on the trot. The Blues were successful in their last outing, conveniently dispatching Southampton by three goals to nil.
The west London club are currently sitting third in the league table on 43 points after 20 matches, two shy off leaders Arsenal. Jose Mourinho will be keen to put maintain the winning momentum and look to knock Derby out of the competition with little hassle.
