Overview
Derby come into this fixture after settling for a 1-1 draw at the hands of Bristol City in the Championship. They are without a win in the last five matches played in the league and have managed only one win in league this season.
Nigel Pearson's side's only win came against Preston Northern and have failed to keep a clean sheet in the last five matches played in all competitions. In the second round, Derby defeated Carlisle United, which has now seen them take on the Merseyside club.
Liverpool are high on confidence as they registered a 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. So far, the Reds have defeated Arsenal, Leicester City and Chelsea, and have settled for a point against Tottenham Hotspur.
Jurgen Klopp will be hoping his side can continue their form in the third round of the League Cup on Tuesday evening. In the previous round, they registered a crushing 5-0 victory over Burton Albion.
Liverpool will be looking to replicate a similar performance when they take on Derby at the iPro Stadium.
