Star Wars The Force Awakens: Disney Infinity 3.0 possibly reveals huge spoiler about Rey
The biggest question left in need of an answer after Star Wars: The Force Awakens is... well, we'll talk about that after the spoiler warning below. However, the answer to it may well have been revealed in the Episode 7 playset for video game Disney Infinity 3.0.
The third iteration of the toys-to-life adventure game Disney Infinity was released back in August, starring numerous characters from past films and the Clone Wars animated TV show. A pack featuring new figures based on characters from The Force Awakens was released in December.
[WARNING: Major spoilers for The Force Awakens follow]
The pack stars John Boyega's Finn, Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron, Adam Driver's villainous Kylo Ren and Daisy Ridley as Rey – the main character of JJ Abrams' hugely successful film. In the video below, at the 20:30 mark, Kylo Ren delivers what could be an important piece of dialogue.
As we discover in The Force Awakens, Kylo Ren was born Ben Solo, and is the son of Han Solo and Leia Organa. Kylo was being trained by Luke Skywalker in the ways of the Force, but betrayed him and turned to the dark side thanks to the influence of Andy Serkis's Supreme Leader Snoke.
In the video above, which depicts the final boss fight against Kylo Ren, the villain addresses Rey, saying either "Face me, cousin!" or "Face me!" and then "Curses!" as he's hit by an attack. If the former, this appears to confirm that Rey is the daughter of Luke Skywalker – something never explicitly said in The Force Awakens, but strongly hinted at.
Disney did well in the build0up to the anticipated film to not reveal much in the way of spoilers. Many predicted that Kylo Ren or Rey would be Han and Leia's child, but it was never made certain through a leak.
This may appear to confirm Rey's heritage, but it is still something Disney and LucasFilm could retcon. We'll find out for sure in the build-up to Star Wars: Episode 8 in May 2017.
