Overview
The World No 2 has been enjoying a great run in China after defeating Rafael Nadal in the final of the 2013 China Open Men's Final last weekend. Victory for Djokovic over Tsonga will leave him facing the Spaniard in yet another final in the Far East.
The Serbian made it to the semi-final of the Shanghai Rolex Masters after defeating Gael Monfils in the earlier round. Djokovic lost the first set to the 27-year-old, but came back to win the next two seats to seal a berth in the penultimate round of the tournament. He won the game 6-7, 6-2, 6-4.
Meanwhile, Tsonga had a comfortable win over Germany's Florian Mayer in the quarter-final. The Frenchman defeated Mayer in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 to set up a clash against Djokovic in the semi-final of the Shanghai Rolex Masters.
A victory on Saturday will see them face the winners of the first semi-final clash between Rafael Nadal and Juan Martin del Potro, scheduled for earlier in the day.
