Overview
Dolphins sealed a place in this year's Champions League T20 after registering a victory over Cape Cobras in South Africa's domestic T20 competition Ram Slam T20 Challenge final earlier this year.
Despite failing to win the final, the Cobras have also made it to the ongoing T20 event in India as Cape Cobras and Dolphins are the two teams from South Africa. Morne van Wyk's side are making their first appearance in the Champions League T20 and would be hoping to progress to the later stages of the competition.
Meanwhile, Perth Scorchers cemented a place in the sixth edition of CL T20 by lifting the Big Bash League. The Scorchers defeated Hobart Hurricanes in the final and the finalists are the two teams of Australia's domestic T20 league.
The Australian side has made it to the competition for a third year in a row. However, they have been knocked out in the group stages on both occasions. The Big Bash winners will take on South Africa's domestic T20 champions in their first fixture on Saturday.
