Don Lock murder: Matthew Daley to appear Tuesday at Lewes Crown Court over A24 'road rage' stabbing
Matthew Daley has been remanded in custody at Crawley Magistrates' Court, accused of killing great-grandfather Don Lock in a road rage attack on the A24, near Findon.
Daley, 34, of St Elmo Road, Worthing, was arrested on Friday (17 July) on suspicion of murdering Lock in a violent rage after their cars allegedly collided on the West Sussex road. He is also charged with the possession of a knife in a public place and is due to appear at Lewes Crown Court tomorrow (21 July).
Sussex Police launched a murder inquiry after Lock was stabbed a dozen times in his head, neck and back in what what described as a frenzied attack on Thursday (16 July).
The cycling enthusiast was returning home from a social event organised by Worthing Excelsior Cycling Club members.
Son Andrew paid tribute to his father, describing him as "full of wisdom, full of wit, always calm".
