Donald Trump 'hates fat people', 'hid unattractive women' and 'leered' claims former employee
GOP presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump claims he has a fantastic record with women, but a former employee said he 'hid' unattractive women in the office and 'leered' at the others.
Barbara Res, who worked with the businessman for almost 18 years, claims Trump did not discriminate when hiring women, but adds he thought "men are better than women but a good woman is better than 10 men".
She also said, in an article written for NY Daily News, Trump disliked unattractive or fat people, and took part in racial profiling.
"He has his fixed idea of how women work. He also used to have fixed ideas about certain nationalities, such as who are the best with money, who are the sternest masters, who are the cleanest. Just reflecting society — he profiled, but didn't discriminate," Res said.
"By the late 1980s, Trump had taken to decorating his office with beautiful women. The receptionists and his assistants looked like models. When he had a meeting, only the most beautiful secretaries were allowed to greet the guests or serve coffee. Does that make him a sexist? He certainly hired not-so-attractive females, he just hid them when people were around."
Res' comments have certainly hit Trump where it hurts, with the Republican candidate already facing criticism for remarks that Democrat frontrunner Hillary Clinton is 'playing the woman card' and having faced off against several women recently including Massachusetts senator Elizabeth Warren and Fox anchor Megyn Kelly.
Having been made aware of Res' article, Trump tweeted: "I gave a woman named Barbara Res a top NY construction job, when that was unheard of, and now she is nasty. So much for a nice thank you!"
He added that Res had asked to come back to work for him but had not managed to return.
Despite being criticised for the language he has used about women, in particular telling an interviewer Megyn Kelly 'had blood coming out of her eyes... out of her wherever', he has maintained women love him.
But his former employee added: "Trump will tell you that everyone likes him. This is not the case. He can be very charming and ingratiating, but he is not nice. In my experience, he is nasty to the people who work for him. He can be very abusive and curt. He has an incredible temper and he lashes out at everyone."
