Drunken monkey attacks bar patrons with knife in Brazil [Video]

Fire-fighters were called to a bizarre scene in Patos, Brazil, earlier in February, when a monkey drank a glass of rum and then started attacking customers with a knife. A video posted to YouTube shows the end of the stand-off, with the monkey having retreated to a roof.

"It was a bar staff oversight that ended with the monkey-drinking some rum and taking the knife," Fire deparment Lt. Col. Saul Laurentino told the aRede website. For some reason, the monkey was only attacking men in the bar.

Fire-fighters removed the primate from the roof and released him but later had to recapture him when he was found once again acting aggressively towards people who lived near the woods. Authorities now say they are working out whether to release the creature a second time or whether he needs to be taken into permanent captivity.
