Kate Middleton Prank Call Receptionist Found Dead after Australian DJ Hoax [VIDEO]

The receptionist who fell for the hoax phone call to the King Edward VII's Hospital, where Kate Middleton was being treated for acute morning sickness, has been found dead.

Earlier this week, DJs Michael Christian and Mel Greig called the hospital and asked to be put through to the duchess.

The hospital obliged and the staff nurse proceeded to give detailed information about Kate's health live on air.

According to the Mail Online, the woman's body was found at an address close to the hospital just before 9.30am.

She was at first thought to be a receptionist at the hospital but is now understood to be a nurse staffing the switchboard, according to the London Evening Standard.

Justin Davenport, from the Evening Standard, tweeted: "Woman who took call at Kate's hospital understood to be a nurse working on reception. Her family, husband and 2 children, informed."

Paramedics were unable to revive her and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said yesterday: "Police were called at approximately 9.25am on Friday, 7 December , to a report of a woman found unconscious an address in Weymouth Street, W1.

"London Ambulance Service attended and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Inquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances of the incident."

"The death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage."

Police have not confirmed that the woman was the receptionist at the King Edward VII's Hospital.

Following the hoax call, John Lofthouse, chief executive of the hospital, said: "This was a foolish prank call that we all deplore. We take patient confidentiality extremely seriously and we are now reviewing our telephone protocols."
