Eddie Howe to make late decision on Bournemouth duo Boruc and Surman for Arsenal clash
KEY POINTS
- Jack Wilshere is ineligible to face his parent club.
- Jordon Ibe returns after illness.
Bournemouth will have Jordon Ibe available for the visit to Arsenal after recovering from illness but Eddie Howe will make a late decision on the fitness of Artur Boruc and Andrew Surman.
The Cherries take on Arsene Wenger's side at the Emirates on Sunday (27 November) with on-loan midfielder Jack Wilshere ineligible to line up against his former club. Howe does have Adam Smith available once again after the full-back served a suspension in the 1-0 victory over Stoke City.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Howe said: "We'll wait and see on the squad. There is a couple of injuries from last week's game against Stoke City and we also have Adam Smith back as his suspension has gone now.
"On Artur Boruc we're not sure and the same for Andrew Surman, so we'll make some late decisions. Jordon Ibe is okay now, he is better from his illness so he is available.
Wilshere meanwhile has made no secret of where his loyalties currently lie. The England international left the Emirates on the final day of the summer transfer window to join Bournemouth on loan and will be rooting for Howe's side when the two meet.
"At the moment I am a Bournemouth player so I want Bournemouth to win," he declared.
The 24-year-old has started and completed Bournemouth's last four games and admits having to sit out this weekend will be a trying experience, although he can see the benefits of the rest coming his way.
"It's frustrating, I just got a run of games. But it might be good for me in a way, just to miss one and then refresh and go again."
