The final whistle has blown at Old Trafford and Manchester United have knocked their neighbours Manchester City out of the EFL Cup. Their name goes in the hat for the draw.

Southampton and West Ham United will take numbers seven and eight respectively. The Saints have consigned Sunderland to yet another defeat thanks to a fine winner from Sofiane Boufal while Slaven Bilic's side have seen off London rivals Chelsea by two goals to one.

Manchester United meanwhile lead Manchester City with just four minutes of that match remaining. The draw will follow shortly after the final whistle there.
