Elie Saab for Pronovias: Sumptuous Gowns Displayed at Barcelona Bridal Show [PHOTOS]

At the 2012 Gaudi bridal fashion show held in Barcelona 11 May, 2012, models dressed in elegant, glamorous gowns created by Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab for the company Pronovias strutted their stuff on the ramp.

The collection featured embroidered creations with impeccable finishing and majestic volumes.

Celebrities present at the event included former Victoria's Secret model Karolina Kurkova and Israeli model Bar Refaeli. Apart from this, industralist Alejandra de Rojas, Brown Navy, Luis Valls Taberner and Mariana de Fontcuberta were present.

Elie Saab's collection for Pronovias featured the Lebanese designer's signature style impregnated with glamour, romance and style.

The Pasarela Gaudí Novias ran from 8 May to 11 May, 2012 while the Noviaespaña International Professional Show was held from 11 May to 13 May, 2012.

The shows featured some of the biggest names in the industry displaying the latest trends and designs.

The 22<sup>nd Barcelona Fashion Show attracted local as well as foreign visitors and included first-timers of international stature such as Carlo Pignatelli, Hannibal Laguna and Zuhair Wall.

The show featured the presence of the best fashion manufacturers in bridal, groom, party and ceremonial wear and accessories. The 2012 show also witnessed a significant increase in the communion segment with the participation of firms such as Miquel Suay, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Javier Larrainzar and Olacaracola.

Designer Elie Saab is known for his exclusive creations, ballgowns and runway designs. He was the first non-Italian designer to become a member of the Italian Camera Nazionale della Moda, and in 1997, showed his first collection outside Lebanon in Rome.

In 1998, he started ready-to-wear in Milan, and in the same year, he held a fashion show in Monaco which was attended by Princess Stéphanie of Monaco.

He later became an overnight success after he became the first Lebanese designer to dress an Oscar winner, Halle Berry, in 2002.

His creations can be found all over the world, with boutiques located in Beirut, Paris and London.
