Enfield murder: Three teens arrested in connection with 28-year-old stabbing victim
Three teenagers have been arrested after a man was found stabbed to death in Enfield.
Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Lackmore Road, Enfield, at 7pm, on Sunday (20 July). The 28-year-old victim reportedly named, Michael Adegbite, died from a single stab wound to the chest 30 minutes later.
It is the second stabbing in the London borough in less than a week. A man remains in a critical condition after he was stabbed in the neck in Hoe Lane, Enfield Wash.
The three 18-year-old teens have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody.
The Met Police said a fight broke out between the victim and the group after they had tried to steal his MacBook.
He had arranged to meet someone via Gumtree - the online classified ads site yesterday evening but when he turned up yesterday he was confronted by a group who tried to steal his computer from him.
He snatched it back from them and escaped with his friend in a car. But he decided to turn back to find the group of thieves with his friends. A brawl then started resulting in his death.
A mother told the Evening Standard she rushed to the scene to help resuscitate him.
"I'm a qualified first aider and I couldn't walk away and ignore what was going on," she said.
"I began to do CPR on the young lad and his friend was next to me applying pressure to the stab wound. He kept on asking me to carry on pressing and thanked me continuously.
"I was doing CPR on him and waiting for the ambulance to arrive."
Roads have since been closed while detectives investigate the scene and hunt for the murder weapon.
A police spokesman said: "Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating and are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the stabbing."
