Overview

England bounced back after the first two defeats with a victory over Australia in the third ODI at Old Trafford. For the first time in the five-match series, the Three Lions decided to bat first after Eoin Morgan won the toss.

James Taylor's maiden ODI century was supported by Morgan's knock of 62, which helped England post a total of 300 runs for the loss of eight wickets. In reply, the hosts' spinners Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid took the match away from Steven Smith's side.

The visitors were bowled out for 207 runs in 44 overs as Ali and Rashid picked three and two wickets respectively. England won by 93 runs and are trailing 2-1 in the series. A victory in Leeds will see them back in contention to win the series as the fifth and the final match will be the decider.

Australia were on the cusp of sealing their first series victory of this tour after losing the Ashes and the only T20 international match against the English side. They will have two more attempts to seal a series victory.
