Overview

After winning the opening Test, the Three Lions failed to secure a series win following their defeat to New Zealand in the second Test. The two-match Test series ended in a draw and both teams will be looking to seal a victory in the five-match ODI series.

It is for the first time the Black Caps will be playing a limited overs match after the defeat against Australia in the World Cup final. They were impressive throughout the tournament as they lost only one match, which was in the final.

Brendon McCullum will be hoping his team will continue their run when they take on the English side in the ODIs. England struggled in the World Cup as they were knocked out of the group stages.

The hosts have a chance to bounce back and put their disappointing ODI form behind when they take on New Zealand.
