Overview
The T20 international between England and Sri Lanka will be kick-start the Lankans Tour, which will be followed by five One Day Internationals and two Tests.
After the T20 World Cup disappointment in Bangladesh, England have played only one international fixture. That has come during their victory over Scotland earlier this month. The Three Lions won by 39 runs via the Duckworth Lewis Method in Aberdeen after the match was reduced to 20 overs.
The visitors come into this game after registering a 1-0 ODI series victory over Ireland earlier this month.
In the first game, Sri Lanka managed 219 runs from their 50 overs and lost eight wickets in the process. In reply, Ireland were bowled out in the 40th over and were short of 79 runs. The result saw Angelo Mathews' side take a 1-0 lead after the first match.
The second tie between Sri Lanka and Ireland was abandoned without a bowl bowled due to bad weather. Sri Lanka defeated India in the World T20 Finals earlier this year and they would be looking for another victory over England on Tuesday.
