Overview
The England vs Pakistan series has been an entertaining one and it all finally comes to an end with a solitary Twenty20 match at Old Trafford.
The hosts come into the T20 tie after beating Pakistan 4-1 in the five-match ODI series. England are currently fifth in the T20 rankings with 116 points.
Joe Root, Alex Hales and Moeen Ali return to the Three Lions squad after being rested for the Sri Lanka game while Ben Stokes and Mark Wood are back from injury.
England are the favourites to finish the series on a high note.
Pakistan's struggles in the shorter formats of the game were reflected in their demolition by England in the ODI series, but the visitors would have gained a measure of confidence after winning the final ODI by four wickets.
New T20 skipper Sarfraz Ahmed was instrumental in their chase scoring 90 off just 73 balls. He has been in brilliant form throughout the tour. Pakistan too have brought in fresh blood for the game, including Amad Butt, Khalid Latif and Sohail Tanvir, while Sami Aslam, Yasir Shah, Umar Gul, Hasan Ali and ODI skipper Azhar Ali are flying back home after being dropped.
