Overview
England come into this crucial fixture after registering their first victory of the tournament over their neighbours Scotland. They suffered defeats in the first two matches against co-host nations Australia and New Zealand.
Against Scotland, Eoin Morgan's side posted a total of 303 runs and in reply, the Scots were bowled out for 184 runs in the 43rd over. Moeen Ali was the star player of the match after scoring 128 runs.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka have managed to win two out of the three matches played in the World Cup. They lost to the Black Caps in the opening match of the tournament and they bounced back with victories over Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
A victory on Sunday over the Three Lions will help them make their position firm in the table, which will help them qualify for the knockout round of the tournament. A defeat for England could end their hopes of making it to the next round. Only the top four teams from each group will go further in this World Cup.
