England vs Wales: Twitter reacts to the Three Lions' last-minute win in Lens

The much-discussed 'Battle of Britain' between England and Wales in Lens provided plenty of talking points for fans both inside the stadium and on social media. The historic rivalry between the two countries and the pre-match mind games only served to intensify the online chatter.
And once the game kicked off at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, the rivalry went up another notch. England fans were predictably thrilled with the dramatic nature of their 2-1 win, which was secured via a last-minute goal from Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge. The injury-prone striker was the toast of social media within seconds of finding the net.
Tears in my eyes.

Sturridge gave Rodgers a career, now he's giving Roy one.
Sturridge makes things happen!! Intent! Wanting to make it happen and he did! Right peg cheeky toe poke and in it went! #subsmakeimpact

On the other hand, Raheem Sterling came in for some particularly stinging criticism from fans who were dumbfounded by his glaring miss in the first half and the Manchester City man's generally insipid performance.
I wonder where Raheem Sterling will play under Pep Guardiola next season? pic.twitter.com/P4j3vci8yM

If sterling is worth 50mill then I'm done with football

Another England player who came in for some stern criticism during the first-half was Joe Hart, who was a fault for Gareth Bale's long-range freekick. The City man was also ribbed for conceding against Russia in England's opening game.
Joe Hart sort your life out!!

I just asked Joe Hart what happened for Gareth Bale's goal. He said not now, James.

But the Three Lions came storming back into the match in the second half after the introductions of Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge. The sought-after Leicester City striker got England's equalising goal and fans on social media were quick to praise officials for allowing the strike.
Blinking heck that was a great decision by the linesman â½ï¸ð

That's why Vardy should have started. Makes defenders nervous by just being a nuisance. Helps that he can finish. Great decision linesman
