Portugal begin their quest to win their maiden European Championship title with a Group F clash against Iceland at Stade Geoffroy Guichard in Saint-Etienne on 14 June.
Semi-finalists in 2012 and finalists in 2004, Portugal – led by the mercurial Cristiano Ronaldo – will hope they can finally go the full distance and secure their first major honour in international football. The Seleccao bounced back from a 1-0 defeat against England to thrash Estonia 7-0 in their final warm-up before the tournament, with Ronaldo scoring a brace.
Fernando Santos's side are backed at 8/15 by Betfair to open their Euro 2016 campaign with a win.
Iceland are making their major tournament debut in France after finishing second in a qualifying group that included the Netherlands, Czech Republic and Turkey. With home and away wins over the Dutch, and a defence that only leaked six goals in qualifying, the islanders cannot be taken lightly. They are priced at 17/2 to spring an upset in Saint-Etienne.
Real Madrid's Ronaldo is 14/5 to score the first goal of the match, with Eder at 6/1 and Nani at 7/1.
