England were one of the sides who were expected to make it to the quarter-final of the Euro 2016 in France. However, the Three Lions' hopes of making it to the last eight were crushed when they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Iceland on 27 June, Monday.

Following the defeat, Roy Hodgson stepped down as England manager and Wales are the only British team to have progressed further in the tournament. Chris Coleman's side defeated Northern Ireland 1-0 in their Round of 16 clash.

Italy, on the other hand were successful in getting revenge over defending champions Spain. They lost the Euro 2012 final at the hands of Vicente del Bosque's side. However, things did not go as per their plan as Italy defeated Spain 2-0 to make it to the quarters.
