Everton transfer news: Toffees confirm Kevin Mirallas has signed a new deal until 2020
Mirallas says Ronald Koeman expects 'more assists, more goals and more consistency' from him.
Everton have confirmed Kevin Mirallas has signed a new three-year deal in order to extend his stay at Goodison Park until 2020. The winger went on to reveal that Ronald Koeman's influence was one of the key reasons behind his decision to sign a new contract.
Toffees chairman Bill Kenwright earlier revealed the winger will commit his future to the current employers. Mirallas has now put pen to paper by signing an extension at Everton on 12 May.
A statement on Everton's official website read: "The Belgium international put pen to paper on his new three-year deal ahead of this evening's final Premier League game of the season at Goodison against Watford when the Blues hope to achieve a new Club record points haul at home in a Premier League campaign."
The 29-year-old joined the Merseyside club from Olympiacos in 2012 and since then he has been a regular inclusion in the starting lineup. He has 34 league appearances to his name this term and has scored four goals and registered six assists in the process.
Mirallas remains confident that Everton are the "right club" for him and has set his sights on winning a trophy with the Premier League club. He remains hopeful that the Goodison Park outfit could make it to the Champions League and also be in a position to challenge for silverware going forward.
"This contract is very important for me and my family. I am very happy here – this is the best club for me," he told the club's official website
"I've been here five years and it's very important for me to win a trophy here. I've said before that my dream is to win at least one trophy with Everton and I firmly believe we are heading in the right direction.
"We have an amazing manager, an amazing team, and amazing fans. This is an exciting time for the Club. I hope we sign some top players to fight for the Champions League places next season.
"There's also a big project with the new stadium, which the Chairman and Farhad Moshiri have been pushing forward with – and all of that is very important for me."
The Belgium international also gave an insight into what Koeman expects of him at Everton.
"The manager was a very important part in my decision to sign a new contract because he believes in my qualities," Mirallas explained.
"I have spoken with the manager and I know he wants more from me - more assists, more goals, more consistency.
"I will work hard for that and hope to play even better next season. I think I need to be more consistent in games. All my family and friends say, 'You need to do more, you need to do more,' and I will work hard to achieve that."
