Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton was the fastest driver during Friday's practice session of the 2014 Canadian Grand Prix at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.

Practice Review

Hamilton and his teammate Nico Rosberg were battling it out to finish the second practice session on top. The British driver managed to thump Rosberg for the top spot with a time of 1:16.118s, while the championship leader finished 0.175s behind Hamilton in the second place.

Red Bull driver and defending champion Sebastian Vettel managed to finish in the top three during Free Practice 2, clocking a time of 1:16.573s. Meanwhile, Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen was fourth coming 0.53s behind the German driver.

Raikkonen's Ferrari teammate Fernando Alonso was fifth, while Williams driver Felipe Massa was sixth. Britain's Jenson Button with his McLaren car was ninth and finished the Friday's session in the top 10.
