Faryal Makhdoom talks ugly relationship drama with Amir Khan over Anthony Joshua cheating rumours
Khan had accused his wife of cheating on him with fellow boxer Joshua.
Amir Khan's wife Faryal Makhdoon has made some candid confessions as she finally opens up about her war on social media with the boxer. Addressing the public spat – which unfolded back in August – the American-Pakistani model said she "didn't mean it like that".
Not only did Makhdoom clear the air when it comes to their relationship and the brief split, but also extended her support to the 30-year-old athlete, who is currently a participant on the hit reality series I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!!
"We all do stupid things in life. I think people read things and you don't mean it like that," 26-year-old Makhdoom said, opening up on her heated exchanges with Khan.
During one of the Twitter rants, the British boxer had even made some shocking allegations, stating that his wife cheated on him with fellow boxer Anthony Joshua.
But all of that seems to be a thing of the past now as the couple focuses on bigger things, like the ITV show and welcoming a baby together.
"He's a good, good guy and I'm glad he's on TV so people can see the real side of him. Sometimes people judge you without knowing you," the Brooklyn-born model was quoted as saying by The Sun.
And while Makhdoom seemed pretty confident about her husband's TV stint, she revealed that there is something which can get to him.
"He's very strong in boxing but not when it comes to insects. He is really scared of spiders, so I hope he does a good job. I hope people see what a good guy he is," she said, adding, "Even in the house if there's a spider in the window, we call each other."
As for the Bolton-born boxer's prospects of winning the immensely popular British show, his wife is quite hopeful. "Amir seems really depressed and quiet, but I think he's liked," Makhdoom explained.
She added, "I'm proud of him. I can't speak to him and I have no way of contacting him, but I hope he's OK."
Earlier this month, the couple confirmed that they were reconciling despite the string of accusations. The message came from Khan, who took to Instagram to share a cozy snap with his pregnant wife.
''With my 4 month pregnant wife, after sorting out all the issues. Closing the year with a happy ending @faryalmakhdoom," he wrote, before confirming his appearance on I'm A Celebrity.
Khan and Makhdoom, who wed in 2013, have a two-year-old daughter, Lamaisah.
