The Radio 1 DJ took to Twitter to announce the birth of her son Rex.

Fearne Cotton and her partner Jesse Wood have announced the birth of their first child, a baby boy by the name of Rex.

The Radio 1 DJ took to Twitter to share her baby news with fans and revealed that that she was "beyond in love".

"Jesse and I are over the moon to announce the arrival of Rex Rayne Wood born on the 21.2.13," she told her 4.2 million followers.

They were quickly inundated with congratulatory messages from fans and celebrities alike.

Her best friend Holly Willoughby tweeted: "Hooray! @Fearnecotton congratulations on baby Rex!!!!! Can not wait to meet your little man....love you! Xxx"

Fellow DJ Chris Moyles said: "A massive bundle of Love to @Fearnecotton, Jess and Rex. Beautiful news."

And Celebrity Juice presenter Keith Lemon wrote: "@Fearnecotton you're gonna be an ace mum. Lotsa love. Congrats t' ya both, all 3 of you! All of us hurrrraaah!"

Cotton began dating Wood, the son of Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood in 2011, just two months after she split from her fiancé, Jesse Jenkins. The couple announced the pregnancy back in August.

"Jesse and I are very happy to announce we are having a baby," the Celebrity Juice star wrote on her website.

"We are over the moon, morning sickness aside (me, not Jess) and looking forward to the little Cotton Wood's arrival."

Cotton is on maternity leave from her mid-morning Radio 1 show and has also taken time out from her television work. Kelly Brook will replace her on the next series of ITV2's Celebrity Juice.

Since then Sara Cox has been hosting the show from 10am-12.45pm.
