Where to Watch Live
The kick-off is set for 9pm BST. Live coverage is on ITV 4. Radio commentary of the game will be available on BBC Radio 5 Live.
Overview
Algeria come into this fixture after registering a crucial victory over South Korea. Vahid Halilhodzic saw his men seal a 4-2 win over the Asian nation after dominating the game against the Koreans.
Islam Slimani, Rafik Halliche, and Abdelmoumene Djabou scored for Algeria in the first half to make the scoreline 3-0 before half-time. Yacine Brahimi scored the fourth goal for his side, despite Korea scoring twice from Son Heung Min and Koo Jacheol.
The win over the Koreans was Algeria's first success in the World Cup and they are currently second in the group with three points after three games. Algeria lost their opening game 2-1 to Belgium, despite taking a lead in the first half.
Meanwhile, Russia enter this game after losing the previous fixture by a narrow margin to Belgium. Divock Origi's goal just two minutes before time saw Capello and his men suffer their first defeat of the summer tournament.
The first game against South Korea ended in a 1-1 draw. Algeria need a win to progress to the Round of 16 irrespective of the results elsewhere. However, a defeat on Thursday will end their World Cup hopes.
Russia, on the other hand, need to win against Algeria comfortably and also hope that Belgium registers a victory over South Korea in order to make it to the next stage of the World Cup.
Should Russia and South Korea both win on Thursday, the team with the better goal difference will seal a place in the Round of 16 of this year's World Cup.
What Managers Say
Vahid Halilhodzic (Algeria): "You journalists have always criticised me, but the Algerian fans have always been behind us. This is quite paradoxical, but they have never lost confidence in us - you did on the first day. It's a pity, it's a pity for you."
Fabio Capello (Russia): "Of course I still believe. We have no other option than to go out and beat Algeria. The pressure was on us in the first game with so many debutants. The important thing about playing a first World Cup in 12 years is that it helps us to ascertain the level which we need to be at in order to hold our own in these competitions."
