Fifth child dies from Harlow Fire
The critically injured three year old girl Maheen Shakoor, has sadly died, at Broomhill Hospital Chelmsford from her serious injuries suffered during the Harlow Fire, according to Essex Police.
She died three days after the house fire in Barnmead Harlow which killed her mother and all four of her siblings- Dr Sabah Usmani ,her sons Sohaib, 11, and Rayyan, six, Muneeb nine , and daughter Hira, 13, died on Monday in Barn Mead.
Her father Dr Abdul Shakoor, the fire's sole survivor, is still being treated for the effects of severe smoke inhalation, and is recovering in the adult burns ward of Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.
Det Supt Rob Vinson, senior investigating officer, said yesterday : "Initial indications show that the fire appears to have taken hold in the lounge area which is at the rear of the property and that no accelerant was used . he added "The ferocity of the blaze has made the forensic work more challenging,"
However, the investigation into the cause of the fire continues.
