The Flash season 2: More Earth 2 scenes, and Zoom's identity; what to expect next in the series

Barry Allen, alongside Harrison Wells, Jesse, and Cisco Ramon returned from their Earth-2 adventure, barely escaping Zoom in The Flash season 2's previous episode, but fans have not seen the last of the multiple universe storyline.

The upcoming episodes of The Flash will focus on Zoom's identity, Barry dealing with the after-effects of his journey to a different universe and the return of King Shark.

Here are a few things to expect next in the series:

1. Despite all the beaches being closed, fans have not seen the last of Earth-2, according to executive producer Todd Helbing. He told Entertainment Weekly, "You'll see quite a bit" in the coming episodes. As for Killer Frost, we will find out her fate, so yes, you will see her again sometime soon.

2. Zoom's identity revelation will be another high point of the season. There are a lot of fan theories about the demon's identity – some assume that Jay Garrick is Zoom, some claim Henry Allen could be the villain. A new promo for the upcoming episode shows Zoom opening his hood to reveal his identity to Barry.

3. A new promo video also hints at the ramifications of Barry's trip to Earth-2, which appears to have changed him and he has "gone rogue". Iris's boss at Picture News, says, "The Flash has gone rogue. Expose him as a fraud." Then we also see Barry trapped in his Star Labs jail.

4. The upcoming episode of Flash season 2 is titled, King Shark, where Arrow's John Diggle and Lyla will travel to Central City to help Barry fight the new villain. According to the synopsis, "When King Shark escapes from an A.R.G.U.S. holding tank, Lyla and Diggle travel to Central City to warn The Flash. King Shark shows up at the West house and attacks Joe, Iris, Wally and Barry."

The Flash season 2 episode 15 airs on 23 February at 8pm EST on The CW.
