The Flash season 3: Candice Patton and Grant Gustin share first look of Iris West and Barry Allen
The plot of the new season will feature the Flashpoint universe.
The Flash actors are back from a hiatus and will begin filming for the show's highly anticipated season 3. Grant Gustin, Carlos Valdes and Candice Patton took to social media to share images from their first day at work.
Patton, who plays Iris West, embellished a selfie of hers and wrote, "First day of Season 3 as Iris West was . Happy to be back!"
Gustin, who plays Barry Allen, also took to Instagram to share his new looks and wrote, "Look who's back. Baby faced Barry. #Day1 #TheFlashSeason3"
The Flash actor later tweeted about his first day on work after a break. He wrote, "Day 1 is so fun. So happy to be back doing what I'm supposed to be doing."
Gustin showed some love for his co-star Carlos Valdes and shared two photos where the two are sporting beards. He joked, "I know @Tha_Los loves me as much as I love him. It's ok." Valdes plays Cisco Ramon in The Flash TV series.
In season 3, The Flash will carry on the DC Comics storyline and will pick up from the season 2 finale. Barry Allen, after defeating Zoom, travelled back in time to save his mother, Nora Allen from the Reverse Flash, thereby changing the timeline in season 2 episode 23 titled The Race Of His Life.
Confirming that Flashpoint will be title of the season 3 premiere chapter, Gustin stated, "We're definitely doing this FP [Flashpoint] thing our own way.. I've read Flashpoint, I've seen the amazing animated film. This will be its own thing."
Meanwhile, Valdes also teased the plot for The Flash season 3, which involves the Flashpoint universe. He said, "I think there's every chance of a Flashpoint paradox. Some people expressed reservation about that, like: 'Why are we going there?' And some people are all about it. I can say, without a doubt, wherever we go from here, it's going to be unique and it's going to be different."
The Flash season 3 will premiere on 4 October on The CW Network.
