The Flash season 3: Candice Patton talks about Iris' reaction to Barry's timeline-changing decision
In the end moments of The Flash season 2, Barry Allen decided to go back in time to save his mother Nora Allen from the Reverse Flash, thereby changing the existing timeline. This happened after Iris West professed her love for him and agreed to wait for him for as long as it takes.
Candice Patton, who plays Iris, was asked how her character would have reacted to Barry's timeline-tampering decision during a Q&A session at Dallas Comic Con's 2016 Fan Expo. According to her, Iris would have supported Barry's decision. She said: "That's a great question. And it's interesting because they have a great relationship in which she's really supportive and loyal to Barry, and I think had he told her, she would have said exactly what she said to him on the patio of their house."
The actress continued: "Which is that, 'Whatever you need to do, wherever you need to go, do it. I'll be here when you get back.' I think she would've said the exact same thing. As long as she knew he was coming back."
Previously, Carlos Valdes, who plays Cisco Ramon/ Vibe, teased the season 3 plot details while appearing at the panel discussion at MegaCon 2016. He said: "All I'm going to tell you is things are going to be different, way different. Not in a bad way; I think in a really exciting way, and it's that difference that's going to inform Barry's trajectory throughout the season, and I think people are going to like it."
The actor also teased the Flashpoint paradox storyline for season 3 and shared: " I think there's every chance of a Flashpoint paradox. Some people expressed reservation about that, like: 'Why are we going there?' And some people are all about it. I can say, without a doubt, wherever we go from here, it's going to be unique and it's going to be different."
The third season of The Flash will return in October 2016.
