Flight to Ibiza ends with passenger bleeding and missing ear

A journey from Newcastle to Ibiza ended with a passenger covered in blood and his ear dangling from his head after a fight reportedly broke out on a Jet2 flight shortly before landing at 7.20pm on 16 August.

A witness quoted by The Mirror said the victim was a man aged between 18 and 25 who was with a group of friends seated in different areas of the cabin. "He kept coming to chat to his mates and then returning to his seat as the flight went on," the witness said.

"When the plane was taxiing to Ibiza Airport the guy came running down the plane towards his friends. He took his T-shirt off and we could see he was covered in blood and that half his ear was just hanging off."

The witness said a steward took the man to the front of the plane as the victim shouted: "Someone just bit my ear off."

A spokesperson for the Northumbria Police confirmed to the Chronicle that they are investigating the incident. Surgeons in Spain are now reportedly working to reattach the man's ear.
