Frank de Boer is interested in the vacant Everton job says his brother Ronald
Frank de Boer is "interested in the Everton job", according to his brother Ronald. The 45-year-old Dutchman recently left Ajax and has been strongly linked with the vacant role at Goodison Park following the sacking of Roberto Martinez.
The Toffees have endured an underwhelming campaign and Martinez ultimately paid the price for failing to match fans' expectations. But according to Ronald de Boer, his brother is the ideal candidate for the job, having previously come close to managing Tottenham Hotspur.
"Frank is interested in the Everton job, but it's not up to him to make the move, that's up to the club. In my eyes he's the right man for that job," Ronald said of reports linking his brother to the Everton job, according to Sky Sports. "He thought he was going to fulfil his ambition of managing in the Premier League but talks with Tottenham collapsed at the last minute."
Ronald suggested Frank is capable of doing an even better job than fellow Dutchman Ronald Koeman, who replaced Mauricio Pochettino at Southampton."When you see what Ronald Koeman has done at Southampton I would argue that Frank is at least as good as him when you see what he has achieved at Ajax," Ronald said amid the Everton links.
"I think Everton would be a good fit for Frank. It's the sort of club where he'd be given the chance to show his qualities and do something special. He made up his mind to leave Ajax two months ago because he needed a change."
