'Frozen 2' trailer: Fans lose it over Pokémon similarity in new character
Pokémon fans may be in for a treat as the "Frozen 2" trailer shows a new character with a resemblance to Sobble.
Disney has just released the full-length "Frozen 2" trailer and fans are now over-the-moon with excitement for its release on Nov. 22. Pokémon fans may especially find the sequel a treat since a new character bears a resemblance to Sobble.
Sobble is a water lizard and part of GenerationVIII. It was recently introduced to the public on Feb. 27, 2019. It is one of the three starter Pokémon of Galar and is characterised by its light blue skin and lighter blue belly and face. It has darker teal patches on its body and has a yellow protrusion on the head and curdled blue tail.
It's as cute as it can be and stays that way as it does not evolve into other forms of Pokémon. It has the ability to camouflage with water.
The release of the "Frozen 2" trailer elicited various shrills of excitement from fans and more so coming from the Pokémon gaming community. Twitter is filled with pure adoration for the cute lizard in the film, whose name is Bruni. The tiny creature appears at the 1:32 mark in the trailer, enjoying frozen treats from Elsa (See the "Frozen 2" trailer below)
Bruni is a "curious and cute" salamander that lives in the Enchanted Forest, according to Nerdist. It appears shy at first but is immediately drawn to Elsa and her magic. The ice queen seems to have taken a liking for the lizard too.
Netizens have flocked Twitter to point out Bruni's resemblance to the Sobble . As with the game, the Pokémon is one of the many that gamers want to protect and treasure.
Pokémon resemblance or not, Bruni has already captured viewers' hearts with his short scene in the "Frozen 2" trailer. One fan called it "the cutest scene" while the others already want a plushie of Bruni.
"Excuse me Frozen 2...who is THIS and how do I acquire it," one fan wrote alongside a photo of Bruni with his mouth open, while another said," I need 10,000 plushies of them right this instant."
It is unknown yet how much screen time the adorable lizard has in "Frozen 2." His appearance though, is a threat to Olaf's popularity. The snowman certainly has some stiff competition with Bruni and even Josh Gad, who voices Olaf, feels it.
