Galaxy A5 (2016) getting Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update
The Marshmallow update is now live for Galaxy A5 (2016) users in Russia.
Samsung appears to be working towards the wider availability of Android Marshmallow for its Galaxy devices. The latest version of Android Marshmallow has started hitting the first generation Galaxy A7, Galaxy Tab S2 and the software update is also officially available for the 2016 model of Galaxy A5. The handset was launched in December 2015 with Android Lollipop firmware on board.
The update, which bumps the build version to A510FXXU2BPF9, is currently seeding for Galaxy A5 (2016) users in Russia, reports Sammobile. If you also belong to the firmware-supported region try to fetch the update manually by going to Settings>> About device>> Software update>> Update now. Alternatively, you can download the Marshmallow build on your phone using Odin flashing tool.

With the update, you should be able to get your hands on the Marshmallow goodies Google has stuffed such as Google Now on Tap for which you just need to hold down your phone's home button to get information about what is on your phone's screen. You can get information about restaurants, movies, music, people and images. Other key features of Marshmallow are Doze mode for improved battery life and permission support for apps.
