Galaxy S6 Active specifications confirmed: Handset to include waterproof feature

The internet is abuzz with news of an unofficial confirmation regarding the likely specifications for the Galaxy S6 Active via some unidentified sources linked to Samsung.

According to SamMobile citing insider sources, Samsung is currently working on introducing the waterproof feature on the Galaxy S6 Active, as the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge missed out on it.

The report confirms that the S6 Active will feature the same 5.1in QHD Super AMOLED+ display along with other specifications found on the Galaxy S6 including Exynos 7420 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 16MP rear and 5MP front camera combo, and a bigger 3500mAh battery.

The bigger battery and screen size on the S6 Active have allegedly led to an increase in its thickness and dimensions compared to the Galaxy S6, wherein the former will measure 146.9 x 73.6 x 8.8mm as opposed to 143.4 x 70.5 x 6.8mm for the latter.

It is still not known if the S6 Active will ship with a microSD card slot and a removable battery, unlike the S6 and the S6 Edge. It is further ascertained that these specifications will be first featured on the AT&T phone with model number SM-G890.
